We've got a bun in the oven

McKay and I are expecting our first! I will be 16 weeks along tomorrow and I am due June 29! We found out on halloween day. My major symptom before finding out was pure exhaustion! I couldn't keep my eyes open. from that time forth most days McKay has to drag me out of bed to go to class (what a good husband!) I have had morning sickness since week 6. Some days are worse then others, but I really can't complain because there hasn't really been any foods that I cringe at the sight of, except maybe apple juice (seen way too much of that if you know what I mean!) I already feel like I am starting to show. Last night I went running up on campus while McKay went and played bball (I know surprising!) anyways while I was running/walking I notice a few girls look at me and then my stomach with a look of are you pregnant or did you just eat a big dinner? My answer: both. I'll get the ultrasound up hopfully soon! We don't know the sex of the baby yet, but will in the next few weeks. In the meantime here are a few things about the baby: From babycenter.com          isn't our baby so cute!

Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.

And if any of you have any good names you would like to swing our way lets us know!

The joys of school

This is what happens when you live at school
One day when I was making dinner and needed some sour cream. When I opened the fridge I was excited to see that we had some. To my surprise when I opened it up, it was no longer sour cream. I wish I could put the smell on here so you could really get the whole experience. I put the lid back on and when McKay got home I asked him to smell the sour cream to make sure it still ok to use. HA I wish I got a picture of his face when he opened it. Priceless

Crystal ball anyone?

Does anyone happen to have a crystal ball, that I could borrow?

Well McKay and I are in the point in our life where there are lots of decisions to be made. And they are the choices between good and good, which is hard. Man throw me a bunch of bad vs. good decisions my way and I bet I can get a 100% on that. But they're not. The good thing about this situation is that it means we still have our whole life still in front of us. Really the only huge decisions McKay and I have made in life so how, is where to go to school and to marry each other. I wish these choices were as easy as those ones. I wish I could have a crystal ball and see where we are going to be just for the next oh 20 years; then I think I could relax more and take the right paths. I'm sure McKay thinks I'm just a worry wart. I'm always asking him to map out our life for the next 50 years (with every detail) and surprisingly he doesn't know either. go figure. Something I have learned from McKay and my parents is that that unknowing is what life's all about (and that's what is fun about life too). The whole point in life is to not know what tomorrow's going to bring but that whatever the Lord gives us, we will not only make it through it but that we can go through it with flying colors! By becoming better and stronger people and maybe helping a few others along the way would be good too. And with faith in Christ we can know every things going to be ok and whatever happens the Lord is on our side cheering for us. It's times like these where I really get to see how much faith I really do have. McKay and I have been so so lucky in our marriage. We have amazing family who love us and support us and awesome friends we have met on our journey who are just like us, and are going through the same thing. I know life is wonderful. But can't I just have a peek?!

And after

Here's McKay pretending like hes actually doing homework! ha! We get home pretty late from school everyday, I usually leave school around 5:30 if I'm Lucky. Sometimes McKay doesn't get home til after 7. He says he is working on physics and Organic Chemistry, but don't let him fool you, I think he really goes to Micky D's every night and plays on the kid's play-place. : ) He got a haircut too! a whole half inch, doesn't he look dashing?

And finally here is my after to my hair cut! I got 7 inches cut off! Which was really difficult for me, because my hair was my little safety blanket. I feel like I have lost 5 pounds and now I have to actually do my hair everyday, which some days turn out better then others.

So what do you think? Hopefully I don't look like I'm 16 anymore. : ) I was going for a sophisticated look. Did it work? I think I look like I could totally have a PhD or something ; )

blessed

Sometimes I get so caught up in my daily routine that I don't take the time to look around at all the blessing I receive each day. McKay is taking a test right now, which gives me time to be alone and to think. When I start to think of all the blessing just in my day such as having the opportunity to go to school at BYU-I and to have awesome teachers and meeting amazing other students, I can't help but think of the gospel. Without the gospel I wouldn't be married to my best friend for time but for all eternity, I would be lost in life trying to figure out what it's all about. But instead I am able to pray everyday to a Father in Heaven who I know loves me, and I get to read scriptures that people sacrificed everything they had including there lives to bring it forth so we could to read it everyday freely.
Do you ever wonder why you get to have the gospel in your life and to have a lovely family, who supports and cares for you. I know the Lord has a plan for each one of us. Now if I could just figure out what that plan for me is, I would be set. But I know one of the purposes of life is just that; to find out what our role in this life is.
I also wanted to share this story; I watch it about 6 months ago and it has been on my mind a lot lately. It is a story about a wife and her husband that were in a plane crush and were severly burned. It's about how they have gotten through it. I am sure most of you have seen it, but just incase you haven't. Click here
